Home Alone

Tim left me early this morning, so I'm officially on my own for the next few days. I should really get my butt off this couch and head to the barn to ride, but I seem to be lacking motivation. Don't really have an exciting plans for this weekend. Tonight is sushi with friends from work and tomorrow is a riding lesson. I also plan to put ( Read more... )

I think you'd have fun living out here for a while- we've got the best produce and such anywhere, the best restaurants in the country (SF is a foodie's dream), every major biotech company is 15-20 minutes away from Mountain View, and except for housing the cost of living isn't that bad. Think how much gas money you'd save not having to drive an hour to get anywhere ;)

And, of course, my favorite part: There are some really good people here, too. Culture, events, cool stuff happening all the time if you want it- I think you'd fit right in.

I know what you are doing, and it's not going to work. :) I've been over it A LOT. CA is a nice place to visit, yes there's lots of stuff to do and people to visit with all the time, but it's too crowded and crazy for me. I was really looking forward to slowing down a bit with North Carolina southern lifestyle. I want to move closer to my parents, I miss seeing them and being able to do stuff on the East coast that I love ( ... )

I see you there, on your big southern porch, holding a mint julep while the hound dog chases foxes ;)

Don't go making yourself depressed, if you have to make the best of any west coast situation, I promise you'll have help ;). Speaking of which, I've been thinking about getting reservations for French Laundry for whenever I can (I think if you call up you get reservations for 3 months out) I assume I can count on you to make a trip if you get enough notice?

It might be the fact the I turned 30 or I don't know what, but I was looking forward to the wedding, my big southern house and family. I'm old, not that I don't still want to go out and have fun, but my priorities are different. Tim is probably envious of your life in ways because you aren't attached, but we have 2 houses, a dog and horse, it's a different type of life. I've been out on adventures since i was 16 and I went to Germany for the summer as an exchange student, I think i want something a little different now, but I want to go back to that later. :)

I am totally in for the French Laundry, good luck on getting a reservation. We should leave Tim home though, he won't appreciate it, they don't have steak and potatoes. ;)
