Work issues, please comment!

Before I begin my work rant, let me give you a little background about the situation. I work for a small company, there are about 15 full time employees. it does directly affect you, because you are doing more work / putting in more hours than the person next to you, and because you're honest and they're not, you're getting paid less for it. it devalues your contribution.

i find that generally, in situations like that, you aren't going to be able to change anyone's behavior but your own. which means you can't stop the coworkers from being abusive, nor can you stop the management from turning a blind eye to it.

if you honestly think that a) the management isn't aware of the abuse, and b) that they would do something if they were, then you have the option of requesting a one-on-one with whoever would take action about it. i'm not sure how you can spin it so it doesn't sound like you're "tattling" on them - maybe "hey, this is a small company, and i see this as detrimental to the entire organization; i was wondering whether you see it the same way" and then give them the facts, with as little editorializing as you can manage. after that, the ball is in their court ( ... )
