Back from a crazy weekend, but more on that later. Right now, we need to discuss music and more particularly, what should Tim and I dance to as our first dance? We don't have a song, so I'm taking suggestions/requests. ;) Also any ideas on dad/daughter and son/mother dance songs ( Read more... )

I don't think I have the energy for that dance. :) It would be quite a work out.

How schmoopy do you want to be? - "Butterfly Kisses" - dad and daughter

"I Hope You Dance" was one of my favorites. "Almost Paradise" (Footloose version)

If you want to be a bit more lively for your first dance, you could go with "De Todo Un Poco" from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. That does require that you are confident in mambo, though.

I'm sure I've got more in the back of my head somewhere...

I'm trying to avoid too schmoopy. I don't want a lot of crying or in my case, hurling during the dance. :)

I would LOVE to do the Dirty Dancing dance and in my head I am awesome at the Mambo, alas in reality, not so much. ;)

I like that song, it would be good.

I was trying to be somewhat original in my choice, without being too different. Does that make any sense? I feel like a lot of people have done their first dance to that song, because it is so good.

Maybe I'm just being difficult. ;)

What a Wonderful World is a pretty awesome song, as is Unforgettable. Both may be too schmoopy, though.

One of my favorite singers and an appropriate song:
"Could I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray

Another one of her songs Vonda and I always liked:
"We'll Sing in the Sunshine" - but that was a few years ago.

What about that song from Casablanca? As Time Goes By?...maybe it's too depressing. I like old. :)
