Yes. They, I dunno, combined into one entity or something and called me and Yuusei out, challenging us. We didn't find out until it was too late that it was a trick to make us complete that "circuit" they kept mentioning.
Then this thing appeared.

When I defeated Jose in our match against Team New World, he mentioned something about an "Ark Cradle". I'm guessing that's what this thing is.
