Curious George helps Pee-Wee Hermann--a story for my kids

This is George. George was a good little monkey and always very curious. He lived with his friend the man in the yellow hat. This morning they were on their way to Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Pee-Wee was waiting for them at the door.
"Good morning George! Are you ready to go pick out a bike?" he asked.
George was excited because Pee-Wee was going to help him and the man in the yellow hat pick out new bicycles at the bicycle store. When they got to the store George saw all kinds of bikes. There were big ones and little ones, tall ones and flat ones. There was even a bike in the shape of a banana!
"Well George, what kind of bike would you like?" laughed the man in the yellow hat. George really liked a bright, shiny red tricycle. It had three wheels. The man in the yellow hat picked out a unicycle built for two. It hat two seats and one wheel. It was yellow like his hat.
"HA-HA!" Laughed Pee-Wee. "I knew you would pick a yellow something or other, I just thought it would be a horn you could beep reAL LOUD!! AHHH!! Hahahahaha."
George, Pee-Wee, and the man in the yellow hat decided it was time to leave the store and go for a ride together. When they approached the bike rack, Pee-Wee's bike was missing.
"Oh, NO!" yelled Pee-Wee. "My BIKE IS MISSING!"
George and the man in the yellow hat decided to help Pee-Wee look for his bike. George looked in a tree. He saw a bird feeding its babies a regurgitated worm. No bike here.
The man in the yellow hat looked in his yellow hat. There was a chocolate cupcake (but no bike)!
Pee-Wee yelled out, "Has anyone seen my bike?!?" Just then, Pee-Wee's friend, Captain Carl came swaggering up to Pee-Wee. "Ahoy there Pee-Wee."
"Hello Captain Carl, have you seen my bike?" asked Pee-Wee.
"Aye-aye, Pee-Wee." said Captain Carl, "I was on my way to Amazing Larry's Luau and as I passed your Playhouse, I saw your bike anchored in your back yard."
"Gee, thanks Captain Carl!" said Pee-Wee.
Captain Carl invited Pee-Wee, George, and the man in the yellow hat to Amazing Larry's Luau. "Its going to be a great party with music, dancing, and great food. There will even be a pu-pu platter. I tell you boys, there's nothing I wouldn't do for some of that pu-pu!"
George rode his new tricycle meanwhile the man in the yellow hat rode with Pee-Wee on the yellow unicycle back to the Playhouse. After Pee-Wee got on his bike, the three friends rode their bikes to Amazing Larry's Luau.
There was music, dancing and great food, including a stuffed pig and a pu-pu platter. Pee-Wee thanked his friends for their help. "This was a great day. The best part was spending it with you, my friends."
George and the man in the yellow hat agreed.

The End.
