Sigh...

I thought surely that this year DST would come and I wouldn't need to educate anyone...so much for that. So say it with me now:

It's Daylight Saving Time, NOT Daylight Savings Time.

Everyone got it?

Good.

That doesn't bother me as bad as people who Schedule things to start at 2 PM CST when it should be 2 PM CDT.

That bothers me more.

Exactly!...because now you have to wonder "Are they just being cute and what they really mean is 1 PM CDT, or are they just stupid and they do actually mean 2 PM CDT?"

I think we should all just use Greenwich Mean Time and then when you post a time you can + or - it so there should be no confusion about what time you actually mean....oh, except people would have to do math then. Guess that'll never happen.

I've given up. It doesn't work. Everyone is just used to saying Savings. Same with Driver License. It's DRIVER LICENSE. Not DRIVERS License.

NO!!! NO!!!!
I will not sacrifice the English Language! We've made too many compromises already. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire words and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done!

...er, I mean...don't give up!

Help me out on irc. I keep telling people "that's not a word!" but then someone like mattg will look it up and it will inevitably show up in a dictionary as "also correct".

"Supposably" is supposedly "also correct". WTF? Just because everyone says it wrong, doesn't mean you should MAKE IT RIGHT!
