i had a whole entry written out, then i lost it cuz my internet fucked up.

whatever it was a meditation on how much the last 3 and half years of my life are a huge waste of stress, and how my parents have been just awesome about grades. threw in a bit about the last weekend. too lazy to type it all out now.

ive never really thought of something as a waste of stress, mostly just that stress was waste. idk.

well lots of people say there are good kinds of stress. like its ok to stress out about something like paying your bills cuz taht shit is important, but i stressed out so much over just my grades and getting into college.

i know kids who's parents have to pay them so that they'll go to school. they're wasting all of their talent.

I think that feeling is kind of justified though. Now that I'm in a "good" college I realize that I probably could get the same education at any state school if I actually put in the effort to learn. But you should remember that although you spent all that time stressing about school and bullshit you did end up learning a hell of a lot, and that was definitely worth it. So although you can look back and say that your motivation may have been misguided, the outcome is that you have a lot more freedom in deciding where you want to go after this bullshit high school crap and that you have a whole lot of knowledge now that you may not have if you hadn't been so stressed out about grades/college.

Sorry that this is a totally random post from me, and that I don't even know you, but I'm sick and don't want to go to work and this stuff about college is just what I've been thinking about the most after this first semester.

nah i appreciate the post, and what you said. and i am wicked sick too, how coincidental. i went to school with a fever the last two days cuz i didn't wanna miss the last two days of my semester, and it really blows.

you go to UMASS right? my bro goes there, he's a sophmore on like the 13th floor of washington, i hope you like it as much as he does.
