002 - He is surrounded by the sound, the sound of cattle in the marketplace...

[*a few inkblots here from where he's been tapping his pen, trying to figure out what exactly to say*]

So I know some weird dreams have apparently been going around... The other night I kept hearing cows, and then last night I dreamed I was dead...and a woman. And a lawyer. All at the same time ( Read more... )

Naw, I think dreams are kinda cool, to be honest. Something about dreaming feels very nostalgic. But cows and zombie lawyers are definitely pretty strange, even for dreams.

Oh, ah...zombies are like people who died and came back to life somehow, only not whole or normal. The undead, they're called sometimes. They're usually depicted with like green rotted skin and they shuffle around eating peoples' brains.

I was mostly being facetious. The lawyer in the dream wasn't green or eating brains, but she was apparently dead without being totally dead.

Feminine zombie law students have to pay the bills too, you know!

Are you saying they can't get jobs?

Now I want a cheeseburger...

[*a moment of raucous laughter here*]

Damn zombies should get a job! Brains don't grow on trees, you know!

Think there's cheeseburgers at the bazaar? I don't think I'd trust the ones from the cafeteria.

I think I recognize your handwriting from my last entry, but I didn't catch your name.

You never know, zombie lawyers might be perfectly normal and none of us remember that they are.

That's true! I never thought I'd see a wolf that could read and write, so I guess anything's possible.

I still dunno that I'd want a zombie defending me in court. I'm not sure I could take one seriously, what with all the...festering flesh and shambling and all.

[her writing is slower than normal, the pen pressing deep into the paper as if she were weighing her words with care]

Yes, actually. It seems everyone is, and from reading the journal back I think this isn't the first time this has happened. And what's more I think they're the dreams of other people here.

Does it mean someone's had our dreams, too? We only just got here.

Hm, yeah some of the other entries I saw indicated folks weren't so confused by this whole thing. Hadn't thought they might be other peoples' dreams, though. That's kinda weird.

Huh, I wonder if someone did have our dreams. That'd be a tad awkward...I died in mine. And I said some cheesy stuff, too...

Yeah, I thought so too. Never saw the cow, but I sure kept hearing it.

Have we met? Er...you know what I mean. I don't think I recognize your handwriting.
