It was only a two day job to build a nice sized porch onto her hit. Savannah had wanted something simple that she could sit on and listen to the night and smell the orchard. It wasn't the sort of thing she could do herself and it wasn't big enough to warrant the whole building crew being recruited so she just asked Logan if he might be interested

Logan was sanding down a railing, and he looked up from his work with a raised brow.

"Wow, that's very tempting," he said sarcastically, wiping the sweat from his brow and pulling himself to his feet. "Actually it's hot enough today that lukewarm is actually kind of tempting," he admitted with a laugh.

Sometimes she couldn't tell if he was being funny or not so she opted to smile in response.

"I'll get you some," she said, ducking inside. She hadn't had him inside because even with Peter there she hadn't felt like cleaning and her hut was a bit untidy and it embarrassed her. It was obvious with the door hanging open behind her.

Logan was oblivious to the mess, and he followed her in, not realizing she had hoped he'd wait outside.

"So how have you been holding up?" he asked, looking around as he spoke. They'd been so busy working, that they'd barely exchanged a word over the last day and a half.

She turned and gasped softly at seeing him inside. But when he didn't mention the mess she relaxed some.

"Oh, well, you know," she said vaguely. Savannah sighed and ducked her chin. How silly of her. Logan had only ever been sweet to her. Certainly he could handle the truth.

"Not so good," she admitted. "On the days I don't have anything to do I just stay in bed. It's been a real help that Joe has me over to play guitar and that I've been starting to babysit in the children's room. I'm trying to keep busy but it's just so hard. It's just like before."
