This same girl later got drunk and made me turn down the music so she could recite, for the pleasure of everyone in attendence, a rap that she had written herself that was about poo (literally). Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch, and judging from the faces of the crowd, I was not alone in feeling a mixture of annoyance and embarassment for her and her poorly rehearsed party trick. Bless her little heart for sharing that with us though, really.

hey i'm sorry i didn't get to see you, too....but i mean, i was so drunk that i'm sure i would have just slurred all over you, and vomited, and then we never would have spoken again, so it's all for the best.
had NO idea you were doing a terry fox run.....after the night we all had, i'm very impressed, even if it got screwed up.
really, what you should do is come over to eric's before you hit aberdeen next weekend. we'll booze a bit and then hoist eric up so he can still hit house parties in his drugged up state.

Yeah the Terry Fox run...I was really bummed I didn't get to do it. In the Czech Republic, every week we would have a "Canada Night" where all the teachers would lead discussion groups about different things in Canada. I always did Canadian Heroes, and week after week, it always went back to Terry. It was amazing how many people over there know all about him. In fact, many small towns (some only as large as like 8,000 people) have the Terry Fox run every year.

I went out and bought the Douglas Coupland book "Terry". It's really, really well done and I know I will have it forever. Plus, Coupland is giving every proceed from the book directly to charity and the publisher is doubling it.
