click-through linky prs! (it's okay - manual typing is possible)
Just read your bento one. Very nice. Liked the whole broccoli stem idea! I'm inspired to try to do proper bentos for the kids. Pity about this cold. Maybe next week! ^_^
Whoops, sorry about that. I didn't put a link since I haven't actually written the vanilla blog post yet (still have to go out and buy the vodka, brandy and sugar!). I'm just so excited to have received my goodies.
I'm also playing around with the colour scheme, so it's not so eye-searingly purple :x I'm glad you liked the bento post!
We make vanilla sugar (for coating Christmas cookies) by food processing a vanilla bean to basically powder, mixing with icing sugar and letting sit overnight.
Our most recent big foodish experiment was that we decided to preserve olives - bought them fresh and green the other week, soaked them in water changed daily until they lost that bitter taste. Result: olives started going bad, bitter taste remained. Ditched the lot. :(
*nodsnodsnods* Good idea! Are you planning on bento-ing it up, or just packing leftovers and such? There's guidelines on size, proportions and stuff I can link you to if you're interested.
Mmm, yeah, it didn't taste too good when I mixed it with breakfast juice :\ But I'm prolly only going to use it in cooking or baking, rather than drinking.

I'm getting myself a bento box this evening and making bento for lunches from now on. Buying out is too expensive.

that looks super good!!
Let me know how the vodka turns out especially. Cause I'm not a fan of Smirnoff vodka, let me know if the vanilla improves the quality.
Vanilla brandy....yum as.
