I think that i have pretty much decided that the most terrifying monster in any type of monster movies is the zombie. I have decided this after a recent bout of nightmares about them. They spread, unlike demons or other monsters and they don't just kill you, they make you walk around once you are dead. The last two nightmares were especially

See, this is interesting, because zombies stuff is supposed to play upon fear of infection and contamination. It's not that they're particularly powerful or dangerous, but that a single moment of carelessness means death.

But for you, it seems to be a loss of control thing. Interesting.

Its the idea of being concious, but not in control that scares me, which i suppose doesn't really fall under zombies, since those people are suposedly dead. I suppose that in every dream I have had with zombies there was some amount of intelligence or other factors that lead me to believe in a cognizant zombie, which isn't really what is in any movie or story.

Actually it's a part of a lot of zombie movies. Day of the dead and the Return of the Living Dead series feature it prominently.
