I'm back in New Zealand after crossing Kyrgyzstan on a horse and am having dinner on Thursday with a Canadian girl I've been crazy about for a couple of years. yes please? you have no idea how wonderful that sounds. body surfing the falls with you at Strands in summer seems like a lifetime ago :(

Also, I remember the Evans Bay lady and your response to her, and am happy you kept in touch.

PS I figured you were not the type to lie there like a lump for long after falling off a horse. I was always told that if you fall off, as long as you're not ambulance-hurt, you should either laugh loudly or cuss resoundingly. That way the people around you don't worry whether you're all right.

i'm a keep in touch kinda guy, the whole thing may fall flat on its face but .. then there's that horse thing again! (good advice re the horse falling thing)

it was more a matter of my mother spamming everyone i met since age 3 with every private detail of my life, but fixed now! :)
