James arrived just slightly late, leaving Tina asleep and roiling with confusion over the progress of the entire afternoon. But he had told Spock he would meet him, and he was not, in fact, unwilling. Spock had proven a fairly reasonable conversationalist, uninterested in blaming him for nothing more than being alive and present, and truth be told James was not as anti-social by nature as his background might have suggested.

In short, Spock would talk to him, and he craved some sort of connection.

"Nice place," he commented.

James was unaware of any rumbling.

"Sure," he said. "Great." Much better than he'd been when pacing jealously about Tina's apartment, since he'd also been offered the chance to watch her fall asleep. "How are you? You didn't get, ah, infected?"

His hair was distinctly disheveled in much the same fashion as Jim's when they... took a midday nap. Intriguing.

"I did not. Jim was capable of informing us of his own compromised state and our Leonard thus took appropriate safety precautions."

And he had been far too occupied providing company and distraction to Leonard after Jim had failed to show up for their engagement. Spock really did not have time for curious sexual compulsions.
