Andrew Scott is my new dream casting for Edward Nigma, I swear. I didn't see it before, but as soon as somebody pointed it out a day or two ago I just COULD NOT UNSEE IT.

Which is kind of funny, since Benedict Cumberbatch has been a more satisfying casting for Crane than Cillian Murphy (in my eyes, anyway) for a while now.

I dunno, Cumberbarch might be better but perhaps not ideal. But admittedly I've never seen him try to pull off someone who's more sinister than just aloof and uncaring. As to Scott, if one toned down the mugging and the camp (I love it on Moriarty but it's just not Eddie) he could rightly be perfect. Someone photoshop this.

I've heard it said that this is the Riddler vs. Riddler show. Sherlock is PI Riddler, the version that's gone straight but continues to show off his massive intelligence at every instance possible. Moriarty is villain Riddler, the kind you see in Arkham City, the one who loves to play games with people's lives as well as his rival. This isn't helped by the Baskerville episode featuring

the motherfucking Scarecrow.

Yeah, to be fair, my dream casting for Scarecrow is EVEN NOW probably Jeffrey Combs. I think Cumberbatch is a bit prettier in the fact than is ideal, but he also has the long, narrow face with cheekbones that seems to fit, and he can pull off the "you just said something idiotic and I'm going to be sarcastic at you" damn well. You've got a point though, I'd like to see how good he is at being sinister first!

And yeah, turn down the camp some and Scott just has the right look and makes some great Eddie expressions. B)

...Riddler vs. Riddler show is about right, damn. o_o I've said on Tumblr several times that Eddie is like... the weird impossible lovechild of Sherlock and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, and Sherlock definitely does and says things I can flat-out see and hear PI Riddler doing and saying.

God, watching this show is going to be even weirder and more amazing now. Shoot.

As to Scarecrowbatch, I think he could definitely rock the part as an academic/scientist. Question is how he'd carry it over into being the actual Scarecrow.

Someone mentioned it around 'Bavaria' and now I can't unsee it.

I heartily agree with all of this.
