[YouTube] Clip of Nino getting his head shaved

Jan 17, 2006 14:52

I don't think anyone missed me these past two weeks? There's not really been much to blog about that hasn't been talked about elsewhere already. There hasn't been all that much JE news. I'm still very busy at work. I finished last quarter's teacher evaluations, but as I've been telling every administrative assistant that comes to pick up their stuff, the cycle starts anew in only four weeks. And I've got another project...documenting our entire backup procedures...due on February 1. Some of it is already documented, but I think I should rewrite it...this time it's for an auditor!

In LJ, people often post links to the YouTube streaming video service. I'd never paid much attention to it precisely because it's streaming and I don't think you can easily download clips. I'm not sure on this last point; I haven't had time to surf around the site.

More and more JE fans are using the service now to upload short clips. The other day darwin51 put up this CM for Koichi's SHOCK OST. Upon further browsing on the site, I was amazed to see how many other JE clips are already there.

The big news going around in the JE world today is that Kazunari Ninomiya of Arashi didn't simply cut his hair, but shaved it *bald*! I haven't seen the newsclip for download yet, but it's available for viewing at YouTube (no, I'm not the one who uploaded it).

Nino will portray a cancer patient in a special TBS drama 「少しは、恩返しができたかな」 which will air in March 2006. I believe the lead actress got the "honor" of shaving Nino's head, although from the way the clip is edited, I think she just got the first cuts and probably a professional barber did the rest.

It's not even the first time he's had his hair whacked, either. One of his very first TV dramas as a Junior required not quite bald, but a nearly-shaved head look. He really stuck out when he appeared on Junior variety shows of the time.

Did Go Morita have *this* much publicity having his hair cut last year??

Ah, the things the boys must do for their careers!

Maybe I'll research YouTube some more...it *is* web-based streaming though...and it's not a good idea to run a bazillion other applications when you're trying to watch a clip...
