He had been sleeping, and sleeping rather peacefully. It was the best thing about not having a roommate; he could just crash and there was no noise to keep him awake.
No noise, that is, unless one counted the banging against the door.
The loud, impatient, idiot thudding that woke him up. He growled at the door, hand patting the nightstand. He bypassed the lamp entirely, his fist closed around the history book he'd been studying earlier, and he chucked it at the door.
More knocking. Who knocked at his door at... He blinked and looked at the clock.
One am? What idiot was trying to wake him at one am? He was not getting up for this. "Unless you're dying," he called (around a yawn, at that, and didn't that just sound authoritative?), "go away."
With that, he turned back toward the wall, pulled the blanket over his head, tried to find sleep again.

Definitely needed to shut the thudding up.

She blinked, stopping for a second, and staring a the door, trying to decide exactly what she should do next, before coming to a conclusion.
She scooped up the pink bunny into her arms and knocked loudly on the door and waited.
(Maybe Potorou didn't answer his door unless people knocked softly! Besides, it looked it she was waking up the person next door too.)

"And I'm not leaving until you give me an apology!" she stated, obviously determined.
Yachiru obviously didn't believe in sleep.
