[Kaori had been left just as hurt as he was, probably, albeit in a different way. Regardless of what happened the last time they spoke, though, to say she wasn't a little bit happy and relieved to hear from him again would be inaccurate. But they're just fleeting sentiments, because... he had been angry with her because she was with Frey, hadn't he? Did that mean... he would be happier now?]

[Kaori doesn't know what else to say either, opting to remain silent while she tries to calm down those raging emotions within her before they went completely out of her control. She can't tell Mithos how much it hurt that he was gone, because he wouldn't understand...

Not that she even understood why. Frey was still a Human, but... he had been so different from everyone else, and now that sole person who had made her almost believe was gone. What was she supposed to do with those broken pieces he had left behind?]

Even if he had abruptly cut off their last conversation, he had hoped that maybe...there was something he was missing, the piece to pull everything together and make sense of the picture. His heart feels empty, but it just sinks faster.
