Even though it hurts so much, I'm glad I'm the kind of person who lives in the past, rather than the future.

Nothing inspires me about people who pretend that yesterday doesn't matter.

I couldn't agree more and have that apply to me more at the moment. I'm definitely that kind of a person, I look to the future and try to work towards goals like what I plan on doing with filmmaking and things in that vein, but with other things...yeah.

And that goes along with what Steve Carrell said to the brother in Little Miss Sunshine last night. When he said something to the effect of the fact that chances are, your past was a really rough time for you, but those are the times that made you. And if you're future is going to be better, you're not going to learn nearly as much then when everything is smoothed out. So why just try to throw blankets over the past and just look steadfastly towards the future, when what made you and showed your true colors, is the past?

Sort of having gargantuan problems on that front right now. :/
