that's the CRT sound! TVs used to make it all the time, especially as the tubes warmed up. my parents never understood why I hated the TV and always wanted it OFF.

I don't buy the teenager thing. I wanna know what frequency that sound is at.

It's real, but the age cutoff is more like 30-40 IIRC, not 20.

Yeah. What I mean is that the sound on that file is only about 14kHz, which is setting a really low bar for human hearing.

Here, go to this blog and listen to the tones. Teenagers can generally hear 18kHz or higher. Let's see how many people can do this:

Edit: I just noticed that not all the files seem to be present anymore, but some of them still are. Still try to give it a shot.
