I have just lost all respect for Ralph Nader.

Shame on you, Ralph. I always thought you were a decent guy; you could have been optimistic and shown a willingness to work with an Obama administration. Holy fuck. I'm glad I wasn't old enough to vote for him in the 2000 election now.

And you know, I think most newscasters are fake in their projected on-screen personalities. It's the way of things in this country. In other countries, like Germany, they don't insert any personality into the news reports. Their job is simply to read the news or intelligently and as neutrally as possible interview people so they can make their own decisions.

I really believed in Nader's message and morals when he ran in 2000. I voted for him then and I don't regret it because it really felt like the right thing to do. I voted for Kerry in 2004 because I understood at that point we needed anyone but Bush in the White House. it was nice this time to be able to vote for a candidate who both agreed with my internal sense of things and who had a chance slightly greater than a snowball in hell of winning. ;)

I think there's spin in everything published or written or said in the "news" I always ask myself, what does this not say? What perspective does it cast? What implicit agreements are in it? and most importantly, Who stands to benefit if I believe this?
