Could we just break off North Myrtle Beach/Atlantic Beach and Charleston, move them to either NC or GA, and close the borders to South Carolina forever? We used to go the The Dolphin,

You made me go misty here at work. My grandparents still live in Georgetown - so can we just keep the entire Low Country? It's SO gorgeous with all of the live oaks and spanish moss. (The rest of the state seems to have little to reccomend it. I try not to mention that I was born there - I spent most of my life in NC.)

The Dolphin; the Swamp Fox - did your family ever go to Brookgreen Gardens???? Sigh:)

Ooops, yeah - keep the Low Country. Matter of fact, I guess we could annex the entire coastline into NC and GA, for that matter. Dang, now I'm hungry for Shrimp Bog!

Ah, Brookgreen - a favorite of Mom's, she makes a point to stop there whenever they visit my cousins on Seabrook Island.

Some days I just miss the South so much. :(

That is a funny story! I had to read it to Gavin.

I remember The Dolphin. Sadly I didn't hit Myrtle Beach until it was starting to go the way it is now - although still nowhere near that bad yet. We used to go to Atlantic Beach when I was really small and later usually Fort Fisher or Carolina Beach.
