I hate advertising. Hate it. Hate, hate, hate. I don't like being 'sold to', and most ads are just awful lately. We have two competing local companies (Luna and Empire) who plaster the TV screen with bad acting and (choke) jingles. Folks, jingles went out with Darrin Stevens, so please stop. I grew up hearing the Empire jingle. We lived in St. Joe, MI, along the shore of Lake Michigan, so we got the Chicago channels on TV and radio. I actually like Empire -- if we'd had them in the Detroit area 6 years ago we would have gotten them to do our house. But alas, they weren't here at that time (I think they are now) so we've never, ever used them. But we would if we could. Anyway I know that has nothing to do with bad jingles. Just a bit of nostalgia on my part. And that damn jingle is in my head now! Make it stop!
