Been a busy couple of days. The weekend was mostly spent WoWing (ding 59! ding 60!) and relaxing. Classes started Monday, and I can taste graduation at the end of the semester. I only have this web design course and my portfolio practical to go ( Read more... )

Unfortunately that's how Meetups tend to be. But then, I'm the one who signed up for a bunch of meetups that I never went to so I shouldn't talk...but I always have several groups I'm involved with- both religious and political and so forth.

Over-focus on magic is a tendency of pagans I've noticed too.
This has driven me away from much of an interest in magic (in addition to being a skeptic) and away from Wicca, and thats what I like about ADF- its very focused on honoring the Kindreds- to me that comes first, and then magic and other doo-dads can be added in.

Magic is the glamorous allure that sells books. But remember most people who buy those books are only dabbling in witchcraft. A few delve further. That's why there has been a continued market for 101 books, critical mass hasnt been reached yet, and people who get past the newbie level are fewer.

But kudos to you for having the patience to do broader Pagan networking.
