“RingoRingoRingoRingoRingoRingo!!!”
A redheaded girl sighed, letting her purple haired friend drag her off to some place. “Slow down Matrix,” Ringo whined. “What’s the rush? We just got out of the cave. Can’t we find a Pokemon Center before you go running around the city?”
Like always, Matrix ignored her. Instead she dragged Ringo to the front of a building, than tilted her friend’s head upwards. “Isn’t it shiny?” Matrix said, bouncing up and down. She was buzzing with excitement.
Ringo looked up to see a shiny sign. “Welcome to the Batcave Gym,” Ringo read. Then she blinked. “Why is the word Bat written on a piece of paper and taped to place before Gym?”
“That’s because we haven’t found a shiny T yet.”
Ringo and Matrix turned around to see a tall black hair guy behind them. He gave them a wide smile. “I’m Dick, nice to meet you two.”
Ringo frowned. “Wait, what do you mean you haven’t found a shiny T? Can’t you just order it from the manufacture?”
Suddenly Matrix let out an ear piercing squeal. She grabbed Ringo’s arm and began to shake it as she bounced harder with excitement. “OmigoshtheymoveRingo!Theymove! They’reso

Ringo sighed again. “Calm down Matrix,” she said firmly. “What are you talking about?”
“Lookup!Lookup!They’resoshiny!!PleaseRingo!PLEASE!Ipromisetotakecareofit!Prettyprettyprettyprettyprettyplease!!”
Ringo looked up. The paper sign with the word “Bat” was still there but all the letters had disappeared except for the Y and O, leaving the word “Yo”. Her green eyes widen. “What happened to the rest of the letters?”
Dick laughed. “Well, see, they’re really pokemon. Unknown actually. They followed my brother home one day. Tons of them. So he trained them to be the signs of the Gym. They seem to like it. But we’re missing a shiny T so… yeah.”
Ringo could only stare at him.
“So… you here to challenge the Gym?” Dick asked, changing the subject.
Ringo gratefully accepted the subject change. “I’m not. My friend, Matrix, on the other hand is the Pokemon trainer.”
It was Dick’s turn to stare at Ringo. “Um… seriously? Cause no offense she doesn’t seem all that there?”
Ringo gave a solemn nod. “I get that a lot.”
They were interrupted when they heard Matrix’s scream from inside the Gym. “A RED GYARADOS! IT’S SO SHINY!!”
Ringo twitched and as calmly as she could, she asked, “Please tell me you don’t have a shiny Gyarados in your gym.”
“Umm… yeah, we do? It’s my brother’s,” Dick answered.
A moment of silence fell between Dick and Ringo. Then they both chorused together.
“Shit.”
