Harry woke up with a start. Beads of sweat rolled his forehead as he gasped for air. His green eyes closed, desperately trying to push the images of green light out of his mind. He grabbed his glasses, only sparing a moment to look to see Ron was still fast asleep, before he quietly crept out of the door.

Moving as silently as he could, Harry made his way to the kitchen. Turning on the facet, he splashed himself with the cold water.

“Nightmares?”

Harry jumped and turned around. Standing behind him was Dick, in Batman pajamas. “Dick!” Harry said in surprised. “What are you doing up?”

Dick’s piercing blue eyes stared at Harry causing him to twitch uncomfortably. “I couldn’t sleep,” Dick finally said. “Wally only crashed out about an hour ago but is probably gonna get up for a midnight snack. I figured I’ll save him the trouble of trying to sneak downstairs.”

“I see.” Harry watched as Dick began to rummage through the fridge. His eyebrow rose when Dick started making a full meal. Lettuces, tomatoes, ham, bread, by the time Dick was done he had two large subway sized sandwiches, small mini one and two glasses of water. “That’s a midnight snack?” Harry asked.

Dick shrugged. “For Wally it is. The small one is for me.”

“Oh,” was all Harry had to say. Maybe it wasn’t uncommon in America to have a full blown meal? There were many different customs he didn’t really understand.

Dick didn’t move from his spot, making no movements to go back upstairs. His head tilted slightly, as he examined Harry.

“What?” Harry finally snapped. He hated when people stared at him. It always felt like he was some sort of animal on display. Like a nervous animal, he fidgeted.

“You should try some meditation techniques,” Dick finally said.

“Meditation techniques?” Harry asked. He frowned, confused by Dick’s words.

Dick nodded. “Yeah. They help with clearing the mind. A clearer mind means fewer nightmares, or at least the ability to get back to sleep after a nightmare,” he explained.

Harry blinked. “It sounds like you speak from experience.”

Dick shrugged. He pushed the images of bloody broken bodies out of his mind. “I had a bunch of nightmares as a kid, still occasionally do. Mediation helps calm me down. Clears your mind, focus on the positive things and whatnots. If you want, I can teach you. But in the morning cause there’s no way you’re gonna get it by tonight.” He opened the fridge again and pulled out a milk carton. Grabbing a pot, Dick turned on the stove and poured the milk into the pan. “Alfred always makes me a glass of warm milk. Should make you sleepy.”

Harry stared at the younger boy in front of him. He isn’t sure why Dick was helping him. However… it was nice that Dick didn’t even bother to ask about his nightmares but still was concern enough to offer help. “I would like to learn,” he said, taking the glass of warm milk from the smaller teen. “Thanks.”

“No problem.”
