all nominations were voter nominations. You just named who you liked and that was your vote. I created the rule of no voting for past winners for a year to try and have a healthy rotation because otherwise you could see the same names for six months in a row.
That was really how obsessed some fans were with certain seiyuu. All ____ all the time.
Hm in my case, I rarely go on LJ cause of many personal reasons (I don't even have a FB nor G+ so that is not the reason) and even if I do login to LJ, I usually ended up scrolling past majority of the posts orz But I find it really sweet that you continued doing the SotM despite lack of response (from me as well since I don't really know which seiyuu I really want to put for voting). I think it is really sad to just drop so I think what eevaleena suggested seems like a nice idea. Doing polls would be lovely actually! 8D
Honestly, I think that the main reason participation has lessen is probably cause lesser people are going to LJ compared to the previous years.
Either way, it will be really sad to see this comm 'abandoned' entirely so please do whatever you think is right! :3
my LJ community profile is littered with dead comms that have no activity anymore. Many have not had posts for years. I'm sure the same is true for many.
You can probably import to Dreamwidth. Still post here and regularly import the entries. Like everyone said, the LJ activity dropped.
As for the poll: When it comes to the polling, the picks go by a really repetitive pattern. Thought it was a little upsetting personally. Unless it's like one of those card/animal/CGI/sports shows (ie: Dungeon Fighter, Battle Spirits...something like that), you rarely see a show with an unfamiliar cast. That's just me though.
New voice works do assist the picks. If you look at the previous winners, most of them are riddled with current active works (i.e: Non-Tan with Fate series).
Can't be helped. The new guys are cheaper to employ.
I'm not a big ani watcher, and i'm just swallowed IRL, so I don't have much enthusiasm to watch new things (or to share). Plus, I really need a genre or a set up that is interesting

It is nice seeing it, but you shouldn't waste your time doing it if only 5 or so people participate.

I like the other suggestions, too!
