I agree with you about the saddam thing, although its hard to really talk about because we're so distanced from it. We can take personal emotion out of the mix, you know? Because he never directly affected our lives. Still, I think rotting in jail for the rest of your life is a worse punishment than death.

The other thing is, as soon as it happened (I was still up when CNN announced it officially. So I knew about an hour after it actually happened) I got this really eerie feeling. Like the eye of the storm you know? I'm sincerely scared that something terrible is going to happen very soon, in retaliation, an intuition sort of thing, you know?

I wish it weren't so complicated.

ahh saddam's execution was weird... the public-ness and the fact that there are videos. also i agree, life inprisonment would have been better. first of all, more of an actual punishment. and second, why avenge the deaths of so many people with another? it seems counterproductive. he was also executed on a muslim holiday which people have a problem with. eek.
