I had the IDENTICAL response to lots of the stuff in Rome, especially the cathedrals and churches. I had fantasies of curing cancer with all the gilt. Maybe guilt? would be a better idea.

This isn't really a reply, but thank Judy for the Villa Borghese recommendation. There are timed tickets, so I went early today and got one for later in the afternoon, and I wouldn't have been so motivated if not for her. And it was totally worth it, I was suprised at how much I loved it actually.

Watch out for those statue babies! They don't like the sandwiches either and get very hungry. And don't come up with silly suggestions like using holy gold for AIDS patients. Have just a little respect.

Rome seems to be impressing you with its largeness. Those popes knew how to build right. Did you get to see the Moses yet?

I did, I saw it today! Thanks for reminding me about it - I wouldn't have remembered otherwise, and it was one of my favorite things so far.
