Oh, and my MiF professor e-mailed me back about my essay. He basically told me that my argument was convincing and that my paper was good but that he would always hate Family Guy. Oh, well. Decent grade!

While you have written convincingly that there is method to this madness, the show reminds me of Married With Children, the cruder version of Rosanne that aired concurrently during the late 80 and early 90s. MWC and FG seem to follow P. T. Barnum’s dictum from the 1850s, “No one ever went broke underestimating American taste.”
