Amanda puts a hand on his shoulder as she sees him eyeing the tone deaf fat man. She has been translating for him. Fortunately it shouldn't be as big of a problem when they are away from civilization.

She hands him a piece of gum, "This should help with the change in altitude when we are on the plane."

He looks at the small object. "Gum" she said it was. But what did it do?

He holds it up.

"What do I do with this small thing?"

Using one of hers she demonstrates, "You take it out of the wrapper and put it in your mouth. Then you chew, don't swallow, just chew."

It is cinnamon flavored gum. Really what else would you expect.

Chew. Like a cow with its cud. Only the cow swallows.

He unwraps the small piece of ... something ... and puts it in its mouth. The flavour is sharp to someone who's never tasted cinnamon before. And he chews.

"And this will help me?" he queries. "How will it help?"
