Is this a trick question?
If not, the "defects" aren't an issue, but isn't syphilis often fatal to babies?
(not to mention if she's already got 8 kids, isn't that already quite a handful?)
-unless the others were all adopted and this is her chance to have her own, and that really, really matters to her...

If she has the means to raise all these children to their best advantages, then no. If she's going to bring them into poverty and total disadvantage on top of everything else then maybe. I don't honestly know. I consider myself pro-choice, but if I were the one who was pregnant, I don't know that I could actually go through with the abortion. I might try to find a way to make it work at whatever cost.
