Three days felt very much like three years. He was sure that he'd worn a hole in the carpet from pacing. He'd taken perhaps more than his share of sleeping potions and had been forced to see a healer to have some breaks in his hand mended. Her head shot up as soon as the door squeaked open. Her blue eyes raking over him almost instantly out of habit. He looked...different. A bundle of nerves on one hand, maybe even guilt, but dressed to the nines; reminiscent of his father.
Selene herself was a little more casually. In jeans, nude heels and a blue and cream striped shirt; a matching denim trench completed the look and ended at her hip.
"...You sound like you've seen a ghost." Her tone was quite but not icy like before.
"An Angel perhaps" he offered, she always looked perfect to him. Which of cause made the guilt even heavier in the pit of his stomach. "Hows Eva?" he asked softly stepping in and shutting the door behind him. Tucking his hands in his pockets to stop them from shaking.
"She misses you." That first night, she wouldn't stop calling for him once they'd gotten to the hotel. The sound had very nearly broken her heart. "Senses that I do too, I guess."
