General Colin Powell on Meet The Press

As you know, I have limited my interaction on LJ in recent weeks but I wanted to reach out to my flist however breifly this morning.

The way he thoughtfully presented his reasons for his thoughts was amazing. Whether people agree with him or not, they cannot dismiss him.

That was beautiful and just really speaks to why I have so much respect for this man. I've always loved Powell and I will continue to do so.

He *gets* it.

It moved me to tears. I started crying when he talked about the Muslim soldier who gave his life for the country.

That part broke my heart as well. He brought it into stark perspective. We're all Americans and should not be disrepected because of our chosen faiths.

He's so dignified and such an obviously intelligent gentlemen. Agree or not, no one can brush off the importance of his choice and the boost it gives the Obama campaign.

Thanks for the hugs. I am doing better. I quit the job at the end of September and have been taking it easy for the last couple of weeks. That helped a lot. :D
