My reaction was "Checks?! We get CHECKS?!"

I knew about the payroll tax adjustments that start on March 1st. I didn't know about direct checks.

I could use one.

They're jealous of his popularity with the people. So far, they people are willing to give him a chance because there really was not much left to screw up after Dubya.

I know he can't make everything right but at least he's trying to do something and he's trying to do the right things. I hope he doesn't lose his enthusiasm and drive over the next few years.
