Absolutely No More Than Meets The Eye

I saw the Transformers movie yesterday.

Simply put, it was by far the most entertaining movie I have seen in decades. Here's why:

I dunno, I can't get past the fact that all the transformers in the trailers look the same. It's all like, "ooh, lookie, WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH I'm made of one MILLION sharp edges for no apparent reason!"
I mean, the old transformers still looked an awful lot like the machine they came from.

Do the trailers just show very similar looking transformers, or ?

Well, the transformers franchise has a history of changing the way the cast looks. Also, there's the ability to "scan" any mechanical form and transfom into that. So, from a plot perspective, it makes sense. Well, about as much sense as it's going to...

it was also damn funny. The characters were believeable (if not over-the-top) and the plot had some heart.
