It's a shame (not to mention dangerous) that people feel as if small children are toys. I wish it was only teens that took such a cavalier attitude. Mostly it makes me angry as hell to be treated as if I'm "overreacting" when people approach children carelessly.

I'm glad that the teens are in our program to learn so hopefully they will get a clue. It would help though if my co teacher was more tuned in to what the students are doing.

When I was getting my training at a local college, we were not allowed to touch the children unless specifically asked. Then only as instructed. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I wish we had a policy like that where I work.
