Toby did not like the mist. He did not like whatever it might represent, and he did not like having to water his Snape-plant every five to six hours. It was becoming increasingly annoying.
The man kept smiling in his sleep. The blonde kept kicking him lightly in the shin, just in case he was smiling about the wrong things. How was he supposed to know?
Finally, however, the boy was taking a break. His body felt tense, his nerves a little frayed from not knowing what had happened to most everyone. He had not spoken to anyone really awake in quite awhile, and it was enough to make him a little on edge. Then again, maybe not compared to some people. He did stop pretty quickly when he just stepped into the rec room, and found a certain long haired boy just. Shaking. Like that.
Duo nodded, so faintly as to be barely noticeable. He kept staring fixedly at a point above the floor. He kept seeing rubble in his peripheral vision. And something smelled acrid; Maybe- it came and went, unlike the shaking, which was persistent.
Toby moved farther into the room. His steps are normal, loud enough that he was sure Duo could hear his every movie. No need to startle a guy he was...
Duo shook his head, barely, and swallowed. Then he swallowed again, because his stomach was turning harder, and then his legs gave out. He landed hard on his knees, first one then the other, and clamped a hand over his mouth. He wasn't blinking much.
Fine, he wanted to say. I'm fine. It's fine. It's nothing. But Duo wasn't a big liar. Personal motto, and all. He just couldn't push the memories down, that's what it was. He slowly became aware that, shuddering and hunched on the floor as he was, his other hand was splayed on the ground in front of him. He wasn't sure, but he thought they looked kind of stained. Kind of red.

He groaned a little.
