Title: Consistently His Pairing: Tenth Doctor/Sarah Jane Smith Rating: Kid Friendly Word Count: 100 Words Summary: Set during The End of Time. Ten's thoughts after seeing Sarah Jane one last time.
He really looked like he needed a hug during "End of Time". He was only a street-width away from Sarah but he just stared, waved, and then slipped away, and I would bet that he was resisting the desire to go and hug her. I like how this expresses that.
"and promise her that no matter what happened this regeneration she would still be his Sarah."
Love that line. I'm a bit anxious to see how well she interacts with Eleven but I think it speaks volumes that since running into her at the School, Sarah has remained a part of his life even with all the (recently big) changes that go on in his time lord regime, and for now at least the writers are making it so it stays that way.
I was never much of a drabbles person because they're so damned SHORT, (though that's the point of it being a drabble) and I'm the kind of person who loves to watch a long story play out since when I start reading I never want it to end. But sometimes drabbles are nice because they capture moments in time. Like this one.
I certainly hope it isn't my imagination that the writers see Sarah Jane as an important person in the Doctor's life. Okay, yeah, all his companions are important to him, but Sarah's different because she gives the Doctor someone to come back to. I heard some people commenting they don't want Sarah and the Doctor to meet again because they want her to stand on her two feet rather than ride on the Doctor's coattails, which I understand but still.... I look forward to them seeing how each other's doing.
ugh, I have this habit of rambling when I have something to say, I'm really sorry! This is cuz' being new to the DW fandom I want to talk!
I always try and make a drabble stand out. It has to be something that says enough within the 100 words that it really doesn't need to be expanded upon. Sometimes I write one and then scrap it because I don't like how it fits. I'm rather obsessive compulsive when it comes to words being right. So thank you so much for saying that. ♥
How has she not stood on her own two feet? Those people are ridiculous. She's got her whole life. The only thing now is that she's matured enough not to waste time waiting for him. Not that she really did waste it but she was awfully bitter, as you'd expect really. But she's always got who he is, so that's the beauty of Sarah Jane when you think about it. She's really one of the only humans to really understand it. She gets that he's going to live on after her and she gets that he goes and does his thing and he won't stay in one place. It was what I saw as the problem with Rose. Rose didn't get it.
Lol, you're always welcome to ramble in my comments. I love it. Honestly. ♥ ♥
