Apparently the quagmire in the Middle East is not deep enough for the US military. They now plan to micromanage the entire continent of Africa too.

You don't see a potential problem with the Islamofascists seizing control of large parts of sub-Saharan Africa?

I previously discussed the growing power of China in Africa. At that time I hoped that America would simply ignore the issue. It seems that we are now to have a 'cold war' over Africa - again.
This new command is not in the real interests of America, China or Africa generally; but I guess the US military can't resist any opportunity to participate in a debacle.

The Chinese and Islamofascists dominating Africa wouldn't be bad for America or Africa? How so? The enemy would get their hands on valuable mineral resources, and the Africans would fall back into slavery.

Those mineral resources are barely profitable. Most western companies can't even be bothered to invest much in Africa. China does so because their personnel costs are lower. It costs a lot to support white engineers in Africa. Chinese engineers don't expect the same standard of living or the same personal security. There is a reason why white men from Europe and US don't still seek their fortune in Africa. There is no great fortune and kidnapping is a major risk.
I think if the Islamists spend their time and money attempting to conquer Africa they will wind up with less money than they had to start with. Africa is too poor to be worth conquering - ask the Europeans, they already tried it.
