[Background]
Over here.[Personality]
Much of .hack//SIGN is based on Tsukasa's change in personality over the series. At the beginning, after he was first Data Drained, he lost most of his memories of his previous life, and between the remnants of the memories he had left and Morganna's warping, he became extremely lonely and arrogant. It's entirely possible the arrogance was a front for his uncertainty over who he really was. As the series goes on, though, Tsukasa gradually learns to trust others, and warm up to them. Through his new friends, he finds hope, and a reason to live for.
Tsukasa is a very uncertain person. He's not entirely sure who he is, or if he really wants to know. Though he has learned the value and the strength of friends, he still has a tendency towards being alone and brooding. He used to think that other people were “selfish”, only doing things for their own gain, but his attitude has changed a good deal since he first started. Tsukasa is a very strong person, but insecure. He doesn't really recognize his own strength of heart most times, but when it comes down to when it's needed, he can be very determined and persistent. He has the courage to stand up to Morganna, and the courage to stop sitting around and do something about the problems in The World. Fighting against an omnipotent and omnipresent AI in a computer game is something that's reserved for people who really want to make a change, in both themselves and in the world around them. He cares about people, especially his friends, even if he might not admit it. However, if he's separated from the people he's built tentative connections with, he's likely to slide back into his old behaviors.
Though he doesn't remember everything from offline, the parts he does remember aren't very good, and he prefers not to think of his past, or his family. He does have a fondness for old movies, because the player behind him used to watch them with her mother, when her mother was alive.
As a person, Tsukasa's strength lies in his determination, and his loyalty. By the end of the series, while he may not be willing to sacrifice everything for other people, he's certainly willing to go to great lengths to protect them. However, Tsukasa can be extremely stubborn when he chooses to be. His loneliness has turned into arrogance sometimes, and he's still not entirely sure how to interact with other people. He still doesn't entirely trust people, and wonders why they would give up things for him, so he doesn't always ask for help when he needs it. He also has a tendency towards depression and isolation, which is understandable from his history, but sometimes leaves him vulnerable.
[Specialties/Abilities]
Presumably Tsukasa's favored elements are fire, thunder, and darkness, as the highest-level summons for those elements can be gained from his wand in the first series of games. Tsukasa also has healing/support magic, though not... extremely strong versions.
Tsukasa cannot wield any weapons except staves/wands/other spellcaster-specific weapons. In addition, said high-level summons won't be available to Tsukasa in Somarium.
... Nor would Tsukasa's Guardian, actually, for that matter.
[Affection] Any physical contact might get a jumpy sort of reaction. Hugs might be okay but I'd like them cleared with me since it really depends. Anything past that is not likely to happen. Tsukie's taken, after all.
[Fighting]
In terms of fighting style, Tsukasa is a ranged fighter, hitting things with powerful spells and then getting the heck away, since Wavemasters are the stereotypical frail spellcaster types.
In terms of how likely he is to invoke fights... he often calls people 'selfish' and occasionally insults people, though not always directly. He's not usually the one to start a fight, but he... gets into them more than he should. :|
[Other Permissions]
[Telepathy/Mind Reading] Telepathy/empathy/mind reading will probably be able to pick up waves of angst and emo quite easily. Deeper information... there's a lot missing in terms of memory, and most of the memories that remain are patchy, fuzzy, and mostly deal with drunken child abuse.
Tsukasa's real name is An Shouji, which means yes, Tsukasa's player is female. However, Tsukasa doesn't know his real-world gender for certain, and has no clue about his real name at all.
If you want to read Tsukasa's mind, please let me know beforehand.
If you want to plot regarding Tsukasa's memory loss/patchy memories and such, please let me know.
[Fourth Wall] Tsukasa knows he's a video game character, controlled by someone else's mind. In terms of telling him canon information... run it past me.
[Other .hack// Series Characters] Please try to stay away from the topic of Aura unless you run it past me first. This also goes for the topic of Macha. I would say it would go for Skeith as well, though he doesn't know Skeith's actual name, just his old-school form.
[Other Facts]
Tsukasa does not know if he's a girl in the real world for certain, though... it doesn't really matter to him either way. He was worried that Subaru wouldn't want to see him if he was a girl, but that wasn't the case, so all was good.
... tl;dr TSUKASA CARES NOT FOR YOUR GENDER ROLES.
