I was just going through folders on my computer and having a look at things I've downloaded and either forgotten why, or wish I had forgotten why. I was boring Mikaela by describing my strange, and slightly disturbing, finds so I decided to kill some time and upload a few choice mp3s that actually belong in a computer folder entitled "creepy".

Stairway to Gilligan's Island

I don't what this is, or why it exists, but apparently someone thought of bringing together the two greatest songs written in the history of mankind - Stairway To Heaven and the Gilligan's Island theme song.

What's Wrong Sid?

The best description I can come up with for this 30 second snippet is a man lacking in simile talent complains about someone sitting about moping. I have no idea what this is, but apparently at the time I thought it was worth downloading?

Florence Foster Jenkins - Serenata Mexicana

Florence Foster Jenkins - The voice of an angel. Who's downed a few bottle of holy wine. And possibly struck her head on the pearly gates and never recovered.

Elsa Lanchester - Fiji Fanny

Elsa Lanchester from an album called Bawdy Cockney Songs, which weren't all that cockney, but fairly bawdy. If her name doesn't immediately ring a bell, look up the film Bride of Frankenstein and you'll see her as playing the title role.

Words

I have been listening to this freaky bit of funk on repeat for about an hour. The lyrics could be compared to the masters, Yeats, Blake, Heaney. For example, "Words can orbit around your mind, words can stay there a long long time". Amazing.

I hope you enjoyed my selection of whacked out crazy.
