It's been pretty well established as a faked video. Cellphones don't put out anywhere near enough wattage to even warm a piece of popcorn. Think about how long it takes your microwave with a power rating of 1000 watts to ever start popping corn. Cellphone power output is rated in the milliwatts.

Well I went to snopes and got this:
http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp

and I can understand the egg not cooking, but the videos of popcorn are so many and so varied, I wonder really if under the correct circumstances if perhaps...
I'd like to get four people with 8 cellphones and do an independent investigation!
Did you see the one where the tablecloth caught fire?
Hmmmm... thanks for the info, the more you make me think the more I think you are right, that and Snopes isn't known for lying.
I have been Japed! Or have I?
Like I said, I'd like to do some investigation!

Consider that the original uploads of four videos purportedly from four different countries were uploaded by the same two people over a very short period of time. At least three of the videos are using identical phones. Combine that with the impossible physics (popcorn pops at between 400 and 450°F. If cell phones put out that much energy when they ring, people's pockets would be constantly bursting into flame. "The number you have reached is currently engulfed by flame. Please leave your message after the tone.") and you've got an attempt to 'go viral'.

Still a neat video, true or not!

I don't know how people can *stand* cell phones anyway.

I guess it's just my personality, I don't care for the thought of being 'tethered' to people/interaction 24/7. I enjoy my quiet time
and see no need to be in touch whilst I'm out & about doing stuff.
Leave a message, I'll get back to you.

EXCEPT I *do* miss the convenience of being able to coordinate meeting up with friends, mostly at concerts or when mtg. in the city or something.

But hey--Never Say Never!

I was never going to do the internet & now I practically live there,LOL!

XOXO

Sheila
