that's a beautiful sweater and you seems really expert! I keep unravelling all my sweater because I am not happy and it takes me something like 1 month if not more to end one! ;( The color is wonderful as well.
I am amazed nobody commented on that: this is really a great cause. Afghanistan people have suffered terribly. From the talibans first and from Americans after. They are left with next to nothing and with the war in Irak of course no one thought about helping them once everything was destroyed. I saw a beautiful documentary some months ago about the situation there. It was some people living in cave with no electricity nor water...Their houses have been destroyed, members of their family killed....It is a great project you participate to. I will check on their website if they don't have other projects.
And the traditional farming style that replenished the land there has been really eroded/bombed, I hear, which leaves the people less able to sustain themselves on the land and rebuild their lives. The organizaton has ongoing projects throughout the year. They are primarily looking for wool items like hats, mittens, blankets, socks, sweaters and vests that get shipped over and distributed. Thanks for the compliments on the sweater quality, too! I am not an expert by any means, but my knitting tension is even. ;)
