I got a phone call half an hour ago.

My Mom died in her sleep last night.

She had just turned 57.

Sorry if you read this before I have had a chance to tell you, Stan. I will be making phone calls later. Right now I am in shock, I think.

I am not sure what I will need.

Sudden is so shocking ... but maybe it's better than a long, lingering pain.

I hope you can come to peace with this sooner rather than later. My mother's death is what finally got me into therapy, and it was a long time coming. For that, I bless her.
