Whenever I start Windows Explorer, it takes some time to scan my hard drives. Then it takes even more time to open up a tree on the C: Drive. I hate this! All of my interesting data is on the external drive mounted at E:. How can I avoid the time spent opening the C: tree?

i have a desktop shortcut for windows explorer that opens in my "d:/my documents" dir. make the shortcut, then right-click and select properties and under "shortcut" put something like this in for the target:

C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,D:\"my documents"

just put in "E:" for the "D:\....."
