Christmas Eve

Okay, so today, I have reached the home of an old friend of my family's in Jackson, Alabama. It is warm and cushy here and the house is beautiful. Said friend keeps trying to feed my family until we burst. I'm going to need a whole lot of working out to do.

But first, the remaining Disney related news...

The last time I updated, I was in the Wonderland Cafe. That evening, I went to this place called the Adventurer's Club, which was like a kind of dirty-joke pub with mechanics and people in costume. They were having a Balderdash competition, where members of the Disney related cast were telling stories of their grand adventures to see who would win the Balderdash Cup. I propose that the roleplayers come to visit Disneyworld with me sometime in the future - we could give those cast members a run for their money. Especially Badmandi would probably be able to out dirty-joke the lot of them. Most of their dirty jokes weren't even funny.

Also, I visited the NASA centre in Florida, near Cocoa Beach, which is the place where Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie lives. We got to see an IMAX movie about astronauts and the moon. Also, we got to sit in the very same room where the first Apollo mission took off and see a live replay of the event (without the people involved, of course). I also learned about pet peeves of astronauts and ate a freeze-dried ice cream cookie. Crunchy warm ice cream is weeeeird to eat.

Final day in Florida was spent in MGM studios, where I sat on the Rockin' Roller Coaster by Aerosmith, which is the best ride in the whole park, in my humble opinion. The song playing during the ride was Dude Looks Like a Lady, but I hear that the song is randomised. Also, I sat on the Twilight Zone's tower of terror, which was hosted by a fellow who looks exactly like spidercat, or at least looked at me in the same way. Unnerving. spidercat could probably get a job a Disney working the Twilight Terror Tower.

Also on this trip, I saw the sleigh of the White Witch, took a million pictures of the foot and handprints of famous celebrities and posed next to a statue of Bill Cosby. I also saw two stunt shows, one with people and the other with cars. The specs on the stunt cars are very interesting. I'll tell interested engineers what I memorised when I get back.

Finally, I learned to draw a mutated version of Winnie the Pooh in the animation studio before it started raining cats and dogs outside. All the fireworks were closed, which was very disappointing. The entire family was drenched to the skin because we refused to buy Disney brand ponchos. They cost about $14 a piece and aren't long-lasting. But, two out of three good days at Disney isn't a bad count.

DISNEY FINAL REPORT...

Final pin count: Jasmine with the rubber rose, Valentines Day with Malificient, Star-shaped TINK! pin, The Enchanted Tiki Room Disneyland 50th Anniversary pin, Chibi angry Donald Duck pin, Year of a Million Dreams Donald and Goofy exclusive pin, Ditto pin with Minnie and Mickey, Davy Crockett 1947 television set and coon kat pin, Minnie Mouse at the hairdo place pin, Sam the American Bald Eagle pin, Eurodisney classic Mickey Mouse pin.

Disappointments: They killed the Tiki Room song! THEY KILLED THE TIKI ROOM SONG! THE WHOLE POINT OF THE TIKI ROOM IS TO HAVE THE TIKI ROOM SONG!!! Tiki Room sucked as a result of addition of Zazu and that annoying parrot from Aladdin. Also, Stitch's Great Escape was not a particularly good ride or show. I didn't exactly appreciate being spat at by a mechanical puppet.

Cool New Stuff: Beauty and the Beast Live onstage was superb and impressive, if a bit cheesy. The preshow acapella group was superb. Plus, they got a real cute prince whom we got to see topless. Mmmmmmm... sexy chest. *Purr* Also, Mickey's Philharmagic was superb. Music was wonderfully sung and cut. The effects were good as well. Oh, and in Pirates of the Carribean, the new Jack Sparrow doll additions were very nice, but made older manniquins look real shabby in comparison (oh, and his voice was different at the end).

Best Rides for Each Park:
Epcot Centre's Soarin'. If you don't do anything else at Epcot, at least see this ride. It is beautifully impressive and really makes you feel like you're flying right above California.
Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain. Roller coaster that says it all. Fast and furious. At one point, I was worried that my bag would fly out of the capsule. It nearly did to. If you're going to ride this, keep a tight hold onto your belongings, or sit on them or something.
DisneyQuest's Cyber Space Mountain. Make your roller coaster very very dangerous (5 on the thrill-o-meter) and I assure you that you won't be disappointed. Although, this was the best out of a whole lot of terrible games, so really, it's not much.
MGM's Rockin' Roller Coaster by Aerosmith. Woot.

Item Purchased for Self: A babydoll T-Shirt with the words "The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves". Also the pins.

Anything Else? Scared the HELL out of the poor young actresses pretending to be Disney princesses in the "Meet the Princesses" place. You can see their very strained smiles in my pictures. They were all so beautiful. Too bad I hadn't the heart to tell them that I was in the wrong queue.

Okay, back to Alabama. Nothing much to say here, except that the kids here are real curious about Australia. I told them all I know about platapi, which is also my favourite marsupial. (My second favourite is the Bilby). Also, I ate honey baked ham, potato salad and brocolli salad for lunch, then topped it off with peacan chocolate cake. Barbequed pork for dinner.

Also went to church.

MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!
