ok. well last night i somehow managed to get one of those pinched nerves which makes it very difficult to turn my head, among other normal bodily movements. i took a couple vicodin before bed, but all that did was get me to oversleep. so today i've been wearing a heat wrap, which also is doing nothing. joy. tonight, i'll try some different ( Read more... )

ouch, I hope your neck feels better. There are some yoga exercises that have helped me with pinched nerves (I am prone too).

is the yoga a preventative measure, or more after-the-fact? i'm interested either way. i'm getting some relief from my own home remedy (see today's post), but it's definitely the kind of thing that you can't have too many treatments for.

I think yoga could be after-the-fact.

Also check out Alexander technique, it´s esp. for injuries. Many yoga/pilates places have some combo classes that combine yoga, gyrotonics, Alexander, etc. that you might find helpful.

And yeah, you can make an icon out of that pic!

i'm familiar with the alexander technique from my years in music. there were classes in it at oberlin, in fact, although i never took one. i have a friend who teaches yoga - i'll have to ask her about some exercises. plus, she sometimes teaches with piper pirabo, who's pretty damn hot, imho. hmmmmm..........
