A bad night bled into a worse morning, so I finally broke down and took some drugs. My head was just spinning and I couldn't handle it anymore, I was triggering all over the place. Sometimes blankness really is better.

Yah, yah I know exactly how that is. Blankness in moderation can offten be a godsend. {{{hugs}}} I'm back home if and when ya wanna talk. About the bad night, or the meds, or anything else, or nothing at all. ::winks:: As always. {{{HUGS}}}

Coming "back from the dead" so to speak just to say I totally feel you on that one after having been on my own drug of choice, Zoloft, since March for Post Partum Depression.

Hope things are improving for you. ((((((HUGS)))))))

Aw, thanks. ((((((HUGS)))))))

I myself have been medicated for about a month, after nearly eight years totally med-free (and supposedly "recovered" from my depressive disorder). The Xanax works pretty well when I need it to, but I can't say the same for the Prozac I'm on. It's a higher dose than I'm used to and I'm getting all sorts of nasty side effects that I never experienced the first time around. I'm actually starting to think that it's treating the wrong symptoms and making others worse. :-/

I hope things are improving for you, too. I've never been pregnant, but I suspect that my brain chemistry/hormone levels would go absolutely batshit crazy if I ever actually were. Has the Zoloft worked well?

The Zoloft certainly took the "edge" off, so to speak, and it was the only one I could take because I was breastfeeding. It gave me those oh so precious 6 seconds to rationalize things before choosing to fly off the handle (or not), which is a very important thing when there's a baby involved. The downside is that now that things are starting to right themselves, my dosage has decreased, and there are moments where I have these totally bizarre, out-of-body dizzy spells.

I haven't heard too many good things about Prozac from people I know from my post-partum group who've been on it. I'm beginning to suspect it's more of a default anti-depressant because the prescriber can't be arsed to put their patient on something more specific.
