The Truth About Race in 2007...

Mar 09, 2007 21:47

So I find myself sick with the flu and being very slow to recover. I had to go to the ever-so-lovely local Wal-Mart yesterday for 'supplies'- Kleenex, juice, soup, medicine, cough drops, magazines, etc.. needless to say I ended up with a buggy full of crap ( Read more... )

writing, race, rants

*applauds* Although, idiot is quite the understatement for someone so f'n retarded/slow/stupid/classless/brainless/egocentric/mindless. JACKASS!! Good god, I wish you would've kicked him in the nuts if you could've found them. People in this area are so close-minded. They don't realize it's the 21st fucking century, for Ra's sake. As in, there are no slaves, people are free, and racial discrimination is pretty much against the law. I know the looks, cause I was at that same bass-ackwards ass store talking to Noble(*gasp*! african-american man!) and white-ass stuckups just kept sending evil looks over. Maybe it was the fact that it was a mexican and a african-american...oh no, two non-whites! *redneck drawl* THE HORUR!!!!

Anyway, if you ever see that guy again, fucking kick his ass. PLease. I beg you.

*applauds you*

I understand every little thing you have said in this post. While I am the 'white' girl who has never dated a 'bblack' guy, I won't ever judge someone because of it. I would never not speak to someone because of their color or such. I cannot stand the people who are like that. It literally makes me sick to think that as multiracial and multiethnical our country is, that people can still be so downright stupid and pigheaded about a persons race.

Thank you.

It took me by complete shock. I mean it wasn't like the man was in his way or anything. He just said it to be saying it. I can't believe it's 2007 and it's still like we're in the 40's or something.

My teenage years were awful. I lost just about all my white friends, I got talked about, called names, harassed and everything. But it didn't stop me. As you can see my kids are bi-racial. And it's not that I prefer black guys, it was just where I found love because I see personality, actions, the person inside the skin. :)

It's nice to know that you are open minded about race. Sadly I can't say that I know many people that are open minded about anything in my area..

That is definitely one thing you can count on me for, never being close minded to something as simple as that. I am a pretty open minded person about a lot of things, but this especially. And this was even before I had biracial relatives in the family.

Well, it's nice to have you around. ;) That's neat that you have biracial relatives.

:( well that's really disheartening to read about. My gosh. People really need to open their eyes and their minds. Skin color doesn't matter for anything.. Or at least it shouldn't matter for anything *shakes head*
